Day 4 | Refreshment of the Soul | Proverbs 11:25

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

The word ¨generous¨ does not mean giving what feels good to us, but about what Jesus has asked of us! What we get from giving shouldn’t be a specific reward, but genuine joy from the giving.

A generous person will prosper;

The verse then states that we will be refreshed by Christ through the act of being generous to those in need. Refreshment of the soul is what we should strive for and all we should expect to receive in terms of getting something out of giving. Is not the refreshment of the soul fulfillment enough?

• One might consider “refreshment of the soul” living in right relationship with Father God. Is being in his presence enough for us?
