Earlier this week, Western Michigan Christian School held our annual Community Update meeting. At the gathering, we reviewed our current 2018-19 school year and discussed an exciting look ahead.
Meeting highlights included:
-Celebrating the outstanding service of several teaching staff members who will be retiring.
-We reminded our community of student life including, but not limited to, new safety protocols, student Ride with Pride, and our commitment to the community by supporting families who are disenfranchised (i.e. Project Grace).
-An academics presentation that celebrated outstanding SAT scores, new industry arts initiatives, robotics successes, and the Teaching for Transformation (TfT) initiative.
-And last, our WMC Board Chairperson, Stu Kingma, delivered a presentation on the financial health of WMC including enrollment strategies, budget initiatives, and a vision for campus development.
Below is a letter from Stu, to you!
Dear WMC Supporters:
This past Monday night we met as a Board and Community to review this past year for WMC and to address the vision for our future. We also were able to recognize the contributions of those teachers and board members who are finishing their time serving at WMC. Congratulations for outstanding service!
Knowing that evening meetings such as this can be difficult for many to attend, we as a board thought it appropriate to bring the meeting and its content directly to you. To that end, we enlisted a videographer to document the presentation and comments for your review.

During the meeting, we also used a PowerPoint presentation to update the community in an understandable and transparent fashion. The PowerPoint presentation will be a helpful reference when watching the presentation video.
The PowerPoint PDF is attached in this below link:

As always, we thank you for your continued support of WMC and welcome any suggestions or comments that you would like us to consider as we continue to live out God’s will for WMC.
Thank you,
Stu Kingma
Chairperson, WMC Board of Education
