Amber (Sandin) Gontjes Selected as Varsity Volleyball Coach
Amber Gontjes is no stranger to Warrior volleyball as she was an all-region middle blocker while at WMC and is excited to be back as the head volleyball coach, “I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to be the new head coach for Western Michigan Christian’s Volleyball team. Warrior volleyball has had a large impact on my life for over ten years now, and I am excited to lead this program. I have big shoes to fill, but I am excited to push our players to new heights both on the court and in their walks with the Lord.”
Her coaching career began in 2016 coaching AAU travel teams and JV teams at WMC. Throughout her coaching career she has coached nearly 30 teams with a variety of skill levels and ages.
WMC Athletic Director Ryan Slack is pleased to have Amber back to lead the program, “It is great to see a Warrior student-athlete come back and lead a program they were a part of. Amber knows our school, our school community and families and has been a part of the rich volleyball history at WMC. I look forward to her leading our students on and off the court as they develop both their volleyball skills and their faith.”
Amber and her husband Jansen live in Muskegon and attend Christ Church in North Muskegon.
